The whole family’s holiday paradise
The swimming area has both a sandy beach and rocks. Bouncy towers, bridges and slides are appreciated by all ages. If you want to use exercise tracks and hiking trails, these start from Johannesvik. From here you can also walk on parts of the Coastal Path, Kuststigen. In the area there is an adventure golf course, a sauna raft during spring and summer, as well as three barbecue areas and a barbecue cabin that you can rent all year round.
In the summer, guided walks and various guided children’s activities are organized, such as the craft forest and crab fishing. Troubadour evenings, quizzes and other themed evenings are organized in the restaurant.
Excursion destinations in and around Kungshamn and Smögen
Smögenbryggan with shopping, restaurants and nightlife is one of the country’s biggest tourist destinations during the summer. Smögen is beyond Kungshamn and for those who do not prefer a longer walk (from Johannesvik), boats go over to the island from Kungshamn harbour.
On Hovenäset you can rent a kayak and there are many nice little beaches to go ashore on. If it’s very windy, you can sneak inside, otherwise maybe an evening paddling in calm water can entice all the way to Hållö. On the island of Hållö, The lighthouse of Hållö was built in 1842 and it was manned right up until it was automated in 1969. You can also get there with the Hållö ferry in 10 minutes and, among other things, visit the well-known bathing paradise.
Other excursion destinations we recommend are Nordens Ark, which works to give endangered animals a future. Breeding and rearing are carried out here, where some of the animals are released back into their natural environment. On the large estate where Nordens Ark is located, there is fantastic nature with hiking trails and one of Bohuslän’s largest rock carvings.
Do you want to discover the North Sea’s animals and plants up close? Then you should visit Havets Hus in Lysekil with nearly 40 aquariums, from really large to slightly smaller ones. All are filled with exciting creatures.
