Camping with dogs on the West Coast
On the West Coast, there are several accommodation options that welcome the whole family, both two-legged and four-legged. In beautiful locations next to the sea or lake, you can stay comfortably on a camping site, in a cabin, a camping cottage, a hostel or a hotel.
Amenities for those travelling with a dog
Rent a cottage, a camping pitch or check into a hotel or hostel by the sea. Below you can see which campsites have made specific adaptations for those travelling with dogs. These include dog-friendly accommodation, dog showers, picnic areas, great walking trails, dog baths and where you can take your dog to outdoor cafés and restaurants.

Dogs are welcome in as many as 90% of the cottages. There are dog baths and several nice trails for dog walks.

At Mellbystrands Camping there is a dog bath 3 km away and at the campsite there is a dog shower and nice walking trails around.

There is a large fenced dog park, temperate hand shower and nice walking paths. Always keep your dog on a leash and walk your dog, but not in the camping area.

There is a dog shower and a fenced dog park. A stone’s throw from the campsite there are also several walking trails that are perfect for lovely walks with the dog.

Those travelling with a dog are welcome at Gullbrannagården campsite and in several cottages. Around the area there are many nice walking paths to choose from.

Vilshärad Camping
There is a dog shower and dogs are allowed to swim in the sea in the designated dog area. You are offered great walking trails in the nature reserve which is about 100 metres from the campsite.

Liseberg Camping Askim Strand
There is a small dog park in the area and just a few hundred metres away is Marholmsbadet, a bathing area where dogs are allowed. There are also nice walking paths along the water down to Hjuvik etc.

The area around Lisebergsbyn is very lovely with many nice hiking trails around Delsjön. At the campsite there is a possibility to rinse the dog.

The campsite has a dog shower and the northern part of the beach has a dog bath.

Getteröns Camping
This is Varberg’s only sandy beach for dogs. The campsite has dog showers and dogs are also welcome in the restaurants.

Ramsvik Stugby & Camping
Hike in the nature reserve and enjoy the views, both you and your dog. At Ramsvik there is a special bathing bay for dogs, dog showers and you are all welcome to the outdoor cafés.

Varberg
Destination Apelviken
Dogs are welcome here. Resting is not allowed in the area but there are many nice walking trails around. Dog showers are available on site. Outside summer time (1/5-31/8) dogs are allowed on the municipal beaches but not during summer.

Åsa Camping & Seaside Resort
There is a temperate dog shower, dog bar and dogs are allowed to swim and be on the beach. In Kungsbacka municipality, dogs can swim and be present at all bathing sites as long as they are on a leash. Lots of walking trails for dogs and mums/husbands to choose from.

Both two-legged and four-legged guests are welcome. A pet-friendly environment where dogs are allowed in all rooms of the hostel and in the private accommodation on the pitches.

There is a dog bath and a dog shower. Dog park and restaurant with outdoor seating for dogs. The fine hiking trails invite you to enjoy pleasant walks all year round.

If the four-legged family member wants to swim, there is a grassy beach for dogs. In addition, there is a dog shower in one of the service buildings and nice walking paths.

Both you and your dog are very welcome at Daftö. The fine hiking trails and close-to-nature location are perfect for walking the dog. There are also dog showers and stands where you can let your four-legged friend take a dip in the sea.

Sotenäs Camping
Everyone is welcome at Sotenäs Camping, even the four-legged ones. Here you can choose to stay on the campsite grounds or in one of the dog-friendly cottages. There are plenty of footpaths around the area.

Båstad
Båstad Camping
There is a dog rest area with agility obstacles, walking trails, dog showers and water bowls placed around the campsite. Two dog courses are planned for the summer to be held by experienced dog trainers. About 3 km from the campsite there is a dog bath. Guests are allowed to bring their dogs in all cabins and in selected rental caravans and glamping tents.
